The Bangladeshi flagship MV Abdullah, which was held hostage, is set to dock at Dubai`s Al Hamriya port in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday. According to Marine Traffic, a global organization tracking ship movements, the vessel is expected to arrive by 2 pm local time (4 pm Bangladesh time).
Reports indicate that all sailors are in good health, though a thorough medical check will be conducted upon disembarkation in Dubai. Arrangements for any necessary medical treatment will be made on-site, with a team from ship owner SR Shipping dispatched to oversee the welfare of the liberated crew.
Captain Mohammad Abdur Rashid confirmed the well-being of all 23 sailors aboard MV Abdullah. Upon arrival in Dubai, two sailors will fly back to Bangladesh, while the remaining 21 are slated to return home via ship in the first week of May after unloading the coal cargo.
The vessel and its crew were seized by Somali pirates on March 12 while en route to the United Arab Emirates from Mozambique, where they had loaded coal.
