Shehbaz thanks Trump for extending Iran war ceasefire

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday thanked US President Donald Trump for agreeing to extend the ceasefire in the US-Israeli conflict involving Iran to allow more time for diplomacy.

In a post on X, Sharif expressed hope that all sides would continue to observe the truce and work towards a comprehensive peace deal.

He said the extension would help facilitate the next round of talks scheduled to be held in Islamabad, aimed at finding a lasting resolution to the conflict.

Trump earlier announced the extension of the ceasefire to provide additional time for negotiations, pending a proposal from Iran.

Officials said the move is expected to ease immediate tensions and keep diplomatic channels open as efforts continue to reach a broader agreement.
