The Trump administration has made the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico official.

As of Friday, the U.S. Department of the Interior revealed that the Gulf will now officially be known as the “Gulf of America.”

Along with this change, the administration has also decided to rename Denali, the highest peak in Alaska, to its former name, “Mount McKinley.”

These changes are part of a series of executive orders signed by President Trump, aiming to fulfill some of his key campaign promises.

The Department of the Interior issued a statement, saying,

“As per the president’s directive, the Gulf of Mexico is now officially called the Gulf of America. In addition, the highest peak in North America has been renamed Mount McKinley.”

The statement went on to explain,

“These changes reflect the nation’s strong commitment to preserving its unique heritage and history. They also make sure that future generations of Americans will continue to honor their heroes and historical landmarks.”

These shifts mark a bold move in reshaping geographical names in line with the administration’s vision.
