US President Donald Trump has said the ongoing conflict with Iran could end within the next two to three weeks, while signaling that other countries may need to secure the key Strait of Hormuz on their own.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said the United States could withdraw from the conflict soon but insisted that military objectives are still being completed. He also left open the possibility of a negotiated deal before that timeline.

The White House announced that Trump will address the nation on Wednesday night to provide an update on the situation.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the joint military campaign against Iran has reshaped the Middle East. On the other side, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran is willing to end the war if guarantees are given to prevent future escalation.

Tensions remain high across the region. In Lebanon, authorities reported several deaths following Israeli airstrikes in southern Beirut, while Israel said it had targeted a senior Hezbollah commander.

The conflict has already caused major human and economic impacts. In Lebanon alone, more than 1,200 people have been killed and over a million displaced, according to official figures.

Global markets reacted to hopes of a possible resolution. Oil prices dropped, while stock markets in the US and Asia showed gains following signs that the conflict may ease.

Trump also said the US would not take responsibility for securing the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil shipments, urging other countries to handle it themselves.

Despite signs of possible de-escalation, fighting continues, with strikes reported in multiple Iranian cities. Officials on both sides have issued strong warnings, keeping uncertainty high over how the situation will unfold in the coming days.
