At least 90 people, including 14 policemen, were killed and dozens injured as fierce clashes took place in different areas in Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh on the first day of the non-cooperation movement announced by the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement that spearhead the quota movement last month.
At least 13 police personnel of the Enayetpur Police Station in Sirajganj were killed as criminals attacked the station on Sunday.
Police Headquarters confirmed news of the death in a press release.
PHQ added that one other member of Eliotganj Highway Police in Cumilla was killed in violence.
Including the deceased so far, 6 people in Narsingdi, 8 in Feni, 8 in Lakshmipur, 22 in Sirajganj including 13 policemen, 4 in Kishoreganj, 6 in capital Dhaka, 5 in Bogra, 3 in Munshiganj, 4 in Magura, 3 in Bhola, 4 in Rangpur, 3 were killed in Pabna, 4 people in Sylhet, 3 people including a policeman in Comilla, 2 people in Sherpur, 1 person in Joypurhat, 1 person in Habiganj, 1 person in Keraniganj of Dhaka, 1 person in Savar and 1 person in Barisal, accoding to the media reports quoting the doctors and law enforcers.
