Customs Intelligence officials arrested two women along with 24 gold bars, weighing 2.784 grams, from Shahjalal International Airport on Monday.
The arrestees were identified as Sania Akter and Salma Begum.
Mizanur Rahman, deputy director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Circle, said a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines landed at the airport from Dubai via Chattogram Airport on Monday morning.
Suspecting the movement of the two female passengers, the customs officials challenged them and seized the gold bars from the vanity bags of them while passing the green channel.
The market value of the seized gold bars is Tk 2.64 crore.
The arrestees were handed over to the Airport Police Station.
