3 more children die with measles-like symptoms

Three more children have died with measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

During the same period, 1,089 people were diagnosed with measles or showed symptoms of the disease.

The information was disclosed in a recent measles update report issued by the health authority on Wednesday afternoon.

The report said that although three more children died with measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours, no death has been confirmed as being directly caused by measles.

Since March 15, a total of 596 children have died nationwide with measles-like symptoms. In addition, 93 children have died after being confirmed as measles cases. Overall, deaths linked to measles or its symptoms during this period now stand at 689.
