A Bangladesh Mahila Parishad report released on Saturday stated that between January and October of this year, at least 2,575 women and girls were subjected to violence.
The report was presented at a news conference during the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women held at the National Press Club.
As many as 397 women were raped and 115 were gang-rapped during this time, according to a report based on 13 national dailies. Twelve victims committed suicide following the incident, leaving thirty-one dead.
In addition, 221 females suffered physical abuse, while 443 died for different causes. During this time, at least 231 women passed away mysteriously.
Additionally, 38 females fell prey to cybercrime.
