Anti-Discrimination Students Movement: Rangpur youth’s body exhumed for autopsy

The body of Sazzad Hossain, who was killed during the anti-discrimination movement, was exhumed on Monday from Shalban Mistripara graveyard in Rangpur district town, for autopsy after 44 days of burial.

The body of Sazzad, 27, was exhumed in presence of Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate ATM Arif Hossain and sent to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital morgue.

Investigating officer of the case Khaled Hossain, also the sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station and members of police and army were present there.

The body of Sazzad was exhumed following the order of the court and an autopsy report was made.

The body was later buried after conducting an autopsy.

Sazzad was shot to death in a clash during the anti-discrimination student movement in front of Raja Ram Mohan Market in City Bazar area on July 19.

On August 20, Jitu Begum, wife of Sazzad filed a case against 51 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
