Mahmudur Rahman, the editor of Amar Desh newspaper, has been acquitted in the case where he was accused of conspiring to kidnap and murder Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The decision was handed down by Judge Sheikh Tarek Eijaz at the Fourth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court in Dhaka.
Rahman was present in the courtroom when the verdict was announced.
This acquittal came after Rahman filed an appeal against the decision made by a lower court. The judge ruled in his favor and dismissed the charges.
Following the court`s decision, Mahmudur Rahman spoke to the media, saying,
"I have received justice from the court, and I will continue my fight against fascism."
