Within a span of around thirty minutes following Iftar, two separate areas in the capital city experienced fires, prompting the intervention of fire service teams to contain the blazes in Hatirpul Bazar and the Gulshan locality.
Reports emerged on Thursday (March 14) post-Iftar indicating a fire incident in the Hatirpool Bazar area of the capital.
According to fire service officials, the fire was reported at approximately 6:04 pm. Firefighters swiftly responded to the emergency, reaching the scene within nine minutes.
The fire, identified on the second floor of a six-story building in Hatirpool Kachabazar, has necessitated the deployment of seven fire units to extinguish the flames.
Concurrently, another fire incident was reported approximately thirty minutes later in the Gulshan area of the capital. Confirming the occurrence, Ershad Hossain, duty officer at the fire service control room, informed the media that they received information about the fire at around 6:48 pm.
Hossain further disclosed that two fire service units have been dispatched to the site to address the situation.
Initial reports suggest that the building affected by the fire in Gulshan housed a restaurant identified as Mejban Dine, situated in the Gulshan-1 area.
