Three days after the murder of journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim in Bakshiganj of Jamalpur, the wife of the murdered journalist Monira Begum filed a case against 22 people.
The case was filed at Bakshiganj police station today.
Earlier in the morning, the main accused, Sadhurpara Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu of Bakshiganj was arrested from Debiganj of Panchagarh district.
Panchagarh Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Kanak Kumar Das confirmed this information.
However, the chairman`s son, who directly participated in the attack, has not yet been arrested. Police arrested 11 people including Chairman Babu in Nadeem`s murder. However, the police did not reveal the identity of others except Babu. The other 10 arrested are said to be followers of Chairman Babu.
Miscreants attacked Nadim in Pathati area of Jamalpur`s Bakshiganj Bazar on the way home after performing professional duties on the night of June 14. Later he was admitted to the hospital with injuries. He died on Thursday at 3.30 pm while undergoing treatment.
The deceased journalist was working as a Jamalpur correspondent for BanglaNews24. At the same time, he was the local representative of Ekattor TV.
Nadim`s wife Monira Begum alleged that Sadhurpara Union Parishad Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu`s men attacked Nadim after publishing a news. Babu himself was present at the scene during the attack.
