Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq has questioned the citizenship of those who do abide by the constitution.
"BNP will say a lot of things. Awami League abides by the constitution because Bangabandhu gave this constitution after achieving independence through the blood of millions of martyrs. The elections will be held according to the constitution. And those who do not follow the constitution are not Bangladeshi citizens," he said, while talking to reporters at the Akhaura Railway Station area in Brahmanbaria on Friday.
"Bangladesh is a developing country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given us some directions. Accordingly, we will build a Smart Bangladesh by 2041," he also said.
Later, the minister addressed party leaders and workers. Akhaura Upazila Awami League General Secretary Takzil Khalifa Kajal, Kasba Upazila Chairman Advocate Rashedul Kaiser Bhuiyan Jabin, and leaders and activists of different levels of the party were present at the time.
