Officials from National Security Intelligence (NSI) and Customs have recovered nearly 2 kg of gold from a Saudi Airlines cabin crew member named Rokeya Khatun at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The discovery was made during a body search on a flight, leading to her apprehension.
The operation took place on Tuesday, May 28, at around 10:25 PM, based on intelligence from the NSI. During the search, officials found 11 gold bars, 6 gold bracelets, and 1 chain on the cabin crew member.
The recovery operation was conducted in the presence of officials from various agencies, including Customs and Airport APBn officers. The apprehended crew member, along with the recovered gold, is now in Customs custody. To curb smuggling activities at the airport, the National Security Intelligence (NSI) has increased its surveillance in collaboration with other agencies.
