Judicial proceedings at the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court were temporarily halted for approximately 20 minutes on Thursday due to water dripping onto the judges` chairs from the ceiling.
Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan, along with four other judges, convened in courtroom-1 around 9:40 am to commence the day`s hearings and case disposals.
Around 10:00 am, a judge noticed water seeping through the ceiling and dripping onto his chair, prompting him to warn the bench officer about the issue.
In response, the chief justice and other judges reportedly relocated to the Khas kamra, vacating their seats, while court administrators swiftly addressed the ceiling leakage momentarily.
By approximately 10:20 am, the judges returned to their seats in the courtroom, resuming proceedings and continuing until the scheduled break at 11:00 am.
Following the 30-minute break, all judges of the Appellate Division, led by the chief justice, reconvened in the same courtroom to resume judicial proceedings, as confirmed by High Court Division Registrar Md Mashiar Rahman.
