At least two paddy field workers were killed and 11 of their colleagues were injured when a truck overturned in Tala upazila of Satkhira early on Saturday morning.
The deceased are Saidul Gazi, 38, son of Taleb Gazi, and Manirul Islam, 30, son of Tofazzal Hossain, of Koyra upazila in Khulna.
The accident took place around 6 am at Kati Sardarbari Battola when the truck carrying the 13 paddy field workers, who went to harvest paddy in Gopalganj from Koyra upazila, overturned as the driver lost control over the vehicle, said Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tala Police Station.
Saidul and Manirul died on the spot, he added.
Their bodies were sent to the morgue of a local hospital.
