Five primary schools and a madrassa which were closed on the border of Bandarban with Myanmar have finally opened.
Teaching would start in these educational institutions from Wednesday, reports Dhaka Tribune.
Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shah Mojahid Uddin said: “Due to the unstable situation on the border of Myanmar, five government primary schools and a madrasa were declared closed on January 29 due to security considerations. However, as the border situation has calmed down, it has been decided to open the schools. Classes will continue in schools from Wednesday.”
Earlier, the district administration announced the closure of these border educational institutions due to the continuous firing and mortar shelling by the Arakan Army with the junta forces of the country from January 13 across the Myanmar border.
Later from February 6, the situation became normal but the administration kept monitoring. Finally, the administration decided to open the schools from Tuesday as there were no incidents of violence so far.
