Ninety-one Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims died in Saudi Arabia till July 8.
According to hajj portal of Bangladesh`s Ministry of Religious Affairs , 69 of the total deaths are men and 22 are women.
According to the ministry`s daily hajj report, the majority of them passed away in Makkah.
The holy hajj was performed this year on June 28.
The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) reports that Saudi Arabia saw the greatest number of deaths among Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims this year.
Seven Bangladeshi pilgrims passed away on June 29 as a result of heat stroke since this year`s hajj had been performed in extremely hot weather, according to various Bangladeshi and international media organizations.
HAAB President M Shahadat Hossain Taslim, who is visiting Saudi Arabia to perform hajj, also confirmed this information.
Hajj pilgrims who die in Saudi Arabia are generally buried there.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, 1,22,884 persons traveled to Saudi Arabia this year on 325 flights operated by Biman, Saudia, and Flynas airlines.
The Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims started to return home on July 3.
