Presidential election schedule to be declared Wednesday

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said that the presidential election schedule will be announced on Wednesday.

The (CEC) revealed the information while talking to reporters at Agargaon election building after a meeting with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury around 2:00 pm on Tuesday.

So, the commission has convened the meeting at 11 am on Wednesday. The schedule for the 22nd presidential election of the country will be finalized there.

In reply to a question, the CEC said the six vacant seats will not be an obstacle for the presidential election.

The five-year tenure of incumbent president Md Abdul Hamid will expire on April 23. As per the law, the election should be held within 90 days of the end of the president’s term.
