9 countries will observe 12th national election

Nine nations have declared they will observe the 12th national parliamentary election scheduled to be held on January 7 next year.

The details were revealed by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Seheli Sabrin on Thursday during a press briefing at the ministry in Dhaka.

She announced that the elections would be observed by Palestine, Georgia, Mauritius, India, Sri Lanka, China, Russia, and Japan.

She added that OIC, Commonwealth and Arab Parliament will also observe the elections.

In addition, a four-person EU expert panel is in Dhaka to observe the election.

However, she did not reveal the total number of observers from other countries.
