Acclaimed Indian writer Buddhadeb Guha has been admitted to the hospital once again with a severe urinary tract infection and several respiratory issues. He just had recovered from Covid-19 a few days ago and was hospitalised again since Sunday (August 1). According to Indian media reports, he was taken to the ICU on Tuesday (August 3) evening as his condition worsened.
According to hospital sources, Guhar has a serious urinary tract infection. A four-member medical team is currently treating him at the hospital. He was again tested for Corona but his results have not been declared yet.
Guha was attacked by Corona last April and had to fight for his life in a hospital bed for more than a month. His daughter and driver were also tested positive.
The 65-year-old popular writer has countless readers across both Bengals and everyone on social media are wishing him a quick recovery.
He spent his early years in various districts of Eastern Bengal (now Bangladesh).
He shot to fame with his ‘Rivu’ series. His days in Rangpur, Jaipurhat and Barisal are depicted in his ‘Rivu’ series.
Some of the ‘Rivu’ books are dedicated to his early-age friends.
He is also the creator of immensely popular ‘Rijuda,’ an imaginary character who moves about in jungles with his sidekick Rudra.
