Popular Bangladeshi actor Rafiath Rashid Mithila is set to get her Tollywood debut soon according to recent media reports in West Bengal. She is rumoured to star in Indian filmmaker Rajorshi Dey’s upcoming film ‘Macbeth’ inspired by Shakespeare.
The central role was first offered to Arpita Chatterjee. Due to some undisclosed reasons, the offer landed on Mithila’s lap.
Dey directed the star-studded tribute film titled ‘Abar Kanchanjangha’ marking the hundredth birth centenary of the legendary Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray.
Media reports suggest that the cast of that film will also star in ‘Macbeth.’
The director did not make any comments about his upcoming film. He said that he is currently busy with the release strategy of his last film ‘Abar Kanchanjangha,’ which got postponed due to the ongoing pandemic.
On the other hand, Mithila and her daughter Ayra is currently in Kolkata. They are staying at Mithila’s husband renowned Indian filmmaker Srijit Mukherjee’s home.
Previously, Mithila starred in a short film directed by Srijit but ‘Macbeth’ will be her big-screen debut in India.
