The court has extended the bail term of actor Porimoni in a case filed under the narcotics act with Banani Police station. Defence lawyer Nilanjana Rifat Suravi confirmed the matter.
The Dhallywood star appeared before Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court and pleaded for a bail extension on Sunday (October 10).
“Porimoni appeared before the court this morning and sought an extension of her bail. Court conducted hearing on the bail petition and granted,” Nilanjana Rifat Suravi said.
Earlier, the defence lawyer said, Porimoni will surrender to the court of metropolitan magistrate Satyabrata Sikder as the tenure of her bail expired.
On August 4, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) launched a drive on her Banani residence. She was detained with a huge amount of foreign liquor recovery.
Later, the court granted four days remand on August 5 and two days remand on August 10 against the actor. She was landed in jail after the remand ended on August 13.
On August 19, the court granted the third phase remand of one day and sent her again to prison on August 21.
However, Porimoni walked out of the jail on September 1 after Dhaka Metropolitan session judge KM Imrul Kayesh granted her bail on August 31.
