The final season of Tom Ellis' popular show 'Lucifer' is set to release on Netflix on September 10. The release date was first unveiled on Netflix's official Instagram profile on Sunday (July 25).
The post’s caption said: "The final season of 'Lucifer' arrives 10th September."
A teaser video was also attached to the post that was a compilation of various moments from the show's past seasons.
Tom Ellis, who plays the titular role of Lucifer in the popular Netflix series, also took to Instagram and posted the same update.
His post’s caption read: "The end is nigh! Lucifer's final season premieres on September 10th on Netflix."
The show follows Lucifer who is extremely bored as the Lord of Hell. He resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for Los Angeles, where he starts helping the LAPD and specifically his romantic interest detective Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German).
The show was originally owned and aired by Fox. The first season premiered back in 2016 and Fox planned to cancel the show. Later on, Netflix noticed the show’s fanbase and bought the rights from Fox and re-released it as a Netflix original series watching its potential.
