Carlo Ancelotti, the legendary Italian coach, has been approached once again by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to take charge of their national team.
This is not the first time Brazil has expressed interest in Ancelotti, but they have yet to secure his services.
Brazilian media outlet Globo reported that CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues is set to make a decision regarding Diniz`s future on Friday, and negotiations with Ancelotti have already begun.
According to reports, Ancelotti has heard Brazil’s offer through his agent.
However, he made it clear that he will not leave Real Madrid before July.
Any formal discussions with Brazil will have to wait until that time, and it is expected that the final decision will be made in July.
This delay is due to Real Madrid`s involvement in the Club World Cup, scheduled for June-July in the United States.
If everything goes as planned, Ancelotti will still be in charge of Real Madrid during that tournament.
Although Ancelotti’s contract with Real Madrid runs until 2026, there have been speculations that he may not see out the full term.
This season, Real Madrid’s performances under Ancelotti have been underwhelming, sparking rumors of his potential departure at the end of the season.
However, Ancelotti has previously stated that he has never left Real Madrid by choice and has no intention of doing so.
He is determined to fulfill his contract, making his future with Brazil uncertain.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid is already eyeing potential replacements. According to Goal, Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is on their radar.
But if Alonso decides to stay with Leverkusen, and if Real Madrid wins either La Liga or the Champions League this season, President Florentino Pérez is expected to retain faith in Ancelotti until 2026.
Brazil, however, is not willing to wait too long. The Brazilian national team has crucial World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay in June.
CBF reportedly does not want Diniz to remain in charge until then, which could result in the appointment of an interim coach or possibly a new head coach.
Besides Ancelotti, the names of Felipe Luís and Jorge Jesus are also being considered for the role, although they too are not available before July.
Despite these complications, Brazil appears willing to wait until July for Ancelotti’s decision, hoping to finally bring him on board to lead the Seleção.
