Asensio Shines in His First Start

On the second home match of the season, Real Madrid has thrashed RCD Mallorca in a 6-1 beatdown. This is only the second match at the Bernabeau this season and both those matches had a number of seven goals. The previous one was a 5-2 win against Celta Vigo where Real Madrid were seen to struggle sometimes but the face off against Mallorca was very different. The scoring started early at 3 minutes from Karim Benzema who has been amazing this season.

Marco Asensio got to be in the starting eleven for the first time this season and he too his opportunity to shine against his former club as he pocketed a hattrick, his first one for Real Madrid but he refused to celebrate against his former club.

Benzema scored a brace and Isco scored one coming up from the bench. Unfortunately for Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois, no clean sheet was possible due to some mistakes at the defensive line. Which has been the noticeable pattern this season for Real Madrid.

Benzema now has 200 Laliga goals something that had only been achieved by another three club legends: Cristiano Ronaldo (312), Raúl (228) and Di Stéfano (216). Youngster Camavinga had a fabulous match on his first start of the season.
