The Bangladesh national cricket team ended a 12-year wait for an ODI series win over the New Zealand national cricket team with a convincing 55-run victory in the third match in Chattogram on Thursday, taking the series 2–1.

After losing early momentum, Bangladesh recovered through a crucial partnership between Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das. Shanto scored a composed 105, while Litton added 76, helping the hosts post a competitive total of 265 for 50 overs.

Chasing the target, New Zealand struggled from the outset as Bangladesh’s bowlers kept tight control. Mustafizur Rahman made a strong return to the playing XI, claiming five wickets to dismantle the opposition batting line-up.

Despite a brief resistance in the middle overs, New Zealand failed to build any lasting partnership and were eventually bowled out for 210.

The win not only secured the series for Bangladesh but also ended years of frustration against New Zealand in ODI cricket. The team’s balanced performance with both bat and ball signals growing confidence and consistency ahead of future international matches.
