Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed interim performance analyst Mohsin Sheikh Pervaiz for the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand this month, BCB confirmed it on Tuesday.
After the ICC World Cup, BCB chose not to renew contract with bowling coaches Allan Donald and Rangana Herath, Bangladesh`s performance analyst Shrinivas Chandrasekaran, has also parted ways.
According to Jalal Yunus, the chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board`s cricket operations committee confirmed that Mohsin Sheikh Pervaiz has secured the responsibility for the upcomming New Zealand tour.
Jalal stated, "We have appointed Mohsin for the New Zealand series on an immediate basis. Based on his performance, a decision will be made for a two-year contract in the future"
Mohsin is actively involved in Australian domestic cricket, gaining popularity. He served as an assistant to Greg Chappell when he was the coach of the Australian youth team. Working in New South Wales, Mohsin served as a performance analyst for prominent Australian Big Bash League teams, including Brisbane Heat, Sydney Sixers, and Adelaide Strikers.
Mohsin worked in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), T10 League, and Pakistan Super League (PSL) among other T20 leagues including IPL. He worked with Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings in the PSL and the Chittagong Challengers in the BPL. He also had a job with the Bangla Tigers in the T10 League.
Recently, Mohsin worked as the Afghanistan national team`s performance analyst during the ODI World Cup.
