Former Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque scored his 12th Test century, helping Bangladesh set Afghanistan a huge target of 662 runs for victory in the one-off Test in Mirpur today.
Mominul hit 121 not out off 145 balls, while Liton Das was unbeaten on 66 as Bangladesh reached 425 for four in 80 overs before declaring in their second innings. Bangladesh scored 382 in their first innings, while Afghanistan was knocked out for 146 in response.
Mominul went more than two years without a Test century after scoring 11 hundreds in his first eight years of Test cricket. His previous century was against Sri Lanka in Pallekele in April 2021. The small batsman had gone 13 Tests and 27 innings without scoring a century.
However, he ended that dry spell in style, scoring his 12th century in his 105th innings off 123 deliveries.
