Bangladesh have announced their squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in October in the UAE, with Soumya Sarkar recalled to replace the injured Liton Das.
Liton missed Bangladesh’s Super Four matches against India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup due to injury. In his absence, Jaker Ali led the side, and he will continue as captain for the Afghanistan series as well.
The Bangladesh squad that travelled to the UAE for the Asia Cup has been retained for the Afghanistan series, with Soumya as the only change. The matches will be held in Sharjah on October 2, 3 and 5.
According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s medical update, an MRI scan revealed a grade-one muscle injury on the left side of Liton’s rib cage, ruling him out of the T20Is. He is expected to recover in time for the ODI series.
