Travis Head smashes India yet again, exposes India’s weak bowling

Australia’s Travis Head continued to humiliate India as he smashed his third century in just four Tests against them, making their bowlers look ordinary once more.

His latest century, off 115 balls with 13 boundaries, gave Australia complete control on Day 2 of the third Test at the Gabba, Brisbane.

This was Head’s ninth Test hundred, and it came at the worst possible time for India.

After tormenting India in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide with a 140-run knock, Head repeated the same punishment in this game, proving that Indian bowlers are simply no match for him.

The Indian attack, which was once feared, is now crumbling under the pressure of facing Head, a player who clearly loves playing against them.

This is not the first time Travis Head has dismantled India. His first big century against them came in the World Test Championship final in June 2023, where he crushed Indian hopes by scoring 163 to help Australia lift the trophy.

Then, in the ODI World Cup final in November 2023, Head’s brutal 137 in Ahmedabad embarrassed India at home and cost them the title.

Now, once again, Head is on the verge of sinking India’s chances of making it to the WTC final for a third time.

Head’s numbers against India tell the full story. He is averaging 113 in this Border-Gavaskar series alone, and overall, he averages 59.20 against India, showing just how easily he handles their bowling.

To make things worse for India, Australia has never lost a Test match where Travis Head has scored a century.

So, with this latest ton, the writing seems to be on the wall for Rohit Sharma and his team, who look set for yet another defeat.

Australia Destroys India on Day 2; Indian Bowlers Completely Ineffective

Earlier on Day 2, there was a glimmer of hope for India when Jasprit Bumrah removed both Australian openers in the first half-hour. But that hope was short-lived.

Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne steadied the ship, and soon India’s bowlers lost all their fire.

Nitish Reddy managed to dismiss Labuschagne, but by then, the damage was done. Australia was sitting comfortably at 104 for three by lunch.

After lunch, it became clear that India’s bowling attack had no answers.

Travis Head took over, blasting his way to an unbeaten 103, while Smith slowly reached 65 not out.

The two piled on 159 runs for the fourth wicket, completely dominating the Indian bowlers, who looked helpless and ineffective throughout the afternoon session.

The truth is, India’s bowling attack, once hailed as world-class, has been exposed.

Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and the rest of the attack simply don’t have what it takes to trouble Australia.

Their performances have been weak, and they are running out of excuses.

When it matters most, India’s bowlers are coming up short, and this game is no different.

By tea, Australia was at 234 for three, with India staring down another likely defeat.

Once again, Travis Head has been the main wrecker, and India’s bowlers have shown they can’t compete at this level.

It’s embarrassing for a team that once prided itself on its bowling to be completely outplayed in this manner.
