In a press briefing on Sunday afternoon, Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief adviser, made it clear that anyone who helped the Awami League leaders escape will face legal consequences.

This statement came after he was asked about the efforts to bring justice to those involved.

"Most of the leaders fled on August 5 and 8," said Shafiqul Alam.

"At that time, the government wasn’t in power, and the police weren’t functioning properly."

He went on to highlight that the country‍‍`s economy is making a recovery.

"Almost all the key economic indicators have shifted to a positive trend," he added, expressing confidence in the nation‍‍`s financial future.

Shafiqul Alam also addressed the issue of bank robberies. He confirmed that the chief adviser has ordered those involved in the robberies to be brought under the law.

"We have seen investigations, and actions will be taken against the perpetrators," he said.

In a significant international development, Shafiqul Alam mentioned that a team from the United Kingdom had already visited Bangladesh, while a team from Switzerland is currently in the country.

He also noted that discussions are underway with the United States and Canada on how to recover money that was illegally transferred out of the country.

“The chief adviser has ordered that anyone with clear accusations against them should be quickly brought to justice,” he said.

"They must not be allowed to escape the law. These individuals have stolen the money that belongs to the people of the country, and we will make sure they face the consequences, especially those still here in Bangladesh."

The message was clear: accountability is coming, and there is no escaping the law.
