A 30-maund (1,120 kg) bull named “Kala Chand” is drawing significant attention at the Sitakunda cattle market ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The bull, lovingly raised by Lavlu, a resident of Bhatiari union in Sitakunda, has become the talk of the town.
Lavlu has been raising Kala Chand for over four years with great care, particularly in preparation for this year’s Eid-ul-Azha.
The bull, named for the crescent-shaped mark on its forehead, measures approximately 10 feet in length and stands 5 feet 3 inches tall. Lavlu has set the price for the impressive animal at Tk 12 lakh .
Every day, people from various regions flock to see the enormous bull, admiring its size and strength.
Speaking about the bull, Lavlu said, "I have been nurturing Kala Chand with immense love and care for four years. He responds to his name and follows commands. His daily diet includes about 20 kg of fresh grass, chickpeas, corn, semolina, bran, and bananas. He is bathed two to three times a day and regularly checked by a veterinarian."
Lavlu hopes that selling the bull at the desired price will make all his hard work worthwhile. To sustain Kala Chand, he has cultivated grass on nearly an acre of land. Unlike many who use harmful substances to fatten their cattle quickly, Lavlu has only fed Kala Chand foods such as fresh grass, wheat, various pulses, and molasses.
"Raising Kala Chand has been a labor of love and dedication," Lavlu added. "Ensuring his well-being and proper growth has been my top priority, and I hope his sale reflects the effort and care put into raising him."
