A verdict has been announced in the gang-rape case of a woman in Noakhali's Begumganj. The verdict sentenced each of the thirteen convicts to teen years in prison.
At the same time, the convicts were fined Tk 50,000 and given additional months imprisonment for non-payment of fine.
District Judge of Noakhali Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal-1 Joynal Abdin pronounced the verdict aroudn 12 noon on Tuesday (December 14).
Public prosecutor Mamunur Rashid confirmed the matter to media.
The accused were brought to the court around 11:00 am on Tuesday (December 14).
