3.3 magnitude tremor jolts Gazipur’s Baipail

A light earthquake, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, was felt in the Baipail area of Gazipur this morning.

The incident comes a day after a stronger quake left at least 10 people dead and caused tremors across several parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), yesterday’s quake was recorded at 10:38 am with a magnitude of 5.7. Its epicentre was in Madhabdi of Narsingdi, approximately 13 kilometers east of the Seismic Centre in Dhaka’s Agargaon area.
