A manpower framework has been made to develop the healthcare sector and almost four lakh 75 thousand employees will be recruited soon. A proposal has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), said Health Minister Zahid Maleque.
He was addressing a conference of Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (UHFPO) at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday (October 20).
Mentioning the dramatic change in the health sector under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the minister said, “We have to keep holding the change. The quality of hospital management has to be improved. Hospitals and clinics need to be kept neat and clean.”
He said, “Government gains its achievement or defame through you. Most people at upazila level get medical treatment in your hands. So, you have to be more aware of ensuring healthcare facilities to the rural people.”
Urging all to stay alert to avert the third wave of deadly coronavirus Zahid said, “Infection is soaring up again for few days. We don’t want that we might get hit by the third wave. For that, everyone has to stay alert from now on. Maintenance of safety protocols has to be ensured.”
Referring to the ongoing vaccination drive the minister said, “Government has taken a plan to administer above three crore doses of coronavirus vaccine. If we can continue this, 50 per cent of the population will come under immunisation programme within December.”
