A Cox's Bazar court has sentenced six Myanmar nationals to 10 years in jail in a yaba smuggling case. It also fined them Tk 10,000 each, in default of which they have to serve one additional year in jail.
Cox's Bazar District Sessions and Judge Mohammad Ismail passed the order on Wednessday afternoon, said Public Prosecutor (PP) Faridul Alam.
On March 1, 2018, the Coast Guard detained the six with 300,000 yaba pills from the sea near St Martin's in Teknaf.
The case was filed with Teknaf Police Station against the six Myanmar nationals under the Narcotics Control Act.
