ACC presses charge sheet against six including ex-health DG

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved charge sheet against six persons including former health director Professor Doctor Abul Kalam Azad over alleged corruption and embezzlement regarding procurement of mask, PPE and issuing coronavirus certificate.  

Deputy Director (Public Relation), Muhammad Arif Sadek, confirmed the matter to TheReport.live on Monday (September 20).

The ACC found vicinity of the allegations against six persons and pressed the charge sheet, Arif Sadek said.  

Deputy Director, Md. Farid Ahmed Patwary, of the anti-graft body filed the case against regent hospital owner Shahed and five other health department officials. The former DG Abul Kalam Azad was not accused in the case but was found involved during ACC probe.  

Flurry of allegations including transforming Regent Hospital to Covid dedicated hospital and embezzling taka 3.34 crore in the name of procuring Covid equiptment were brought against the accused.
