Bangladesh will get a supply of 750MW of electricity from Adani Godda Power Plant from mid-March, said State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid.
He visited the under-construction power plant in Godda district of India's Jharkhand on Tuesday and said the power plant is producing around 250MW electricity in its test run.
"By mid-March, we hope to get around 750MW of electricity from the power plant," he said.
Half of the Adani Godda Power Plant will be commissioned in March 26 this year, after commercial operation was rescheduled several times.
According to Power Purchase Agreement, the Required Commercial Operations Date (COD) of the First Unit was January 5 last year but was later shifted to December 16 as per the request of Adani Power Limited.
However, it was not possible to get half of the net 1,496 MW coal fired electricity then.
