The body of the eight-year-old girl who died after being brutally raped in Magura will be transported to her village home via an army helicopter.

A source from the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) confirmed this information.

According to the source, the child’s body will be taken from the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka to the Tejgaon Old Airport shortly.

From there, it will be flown to her village in Magura by helicopter. Her funeral prayers (Namaz-e-Janaza) will be held at 7 PM today at Nomani Maidan in Magura.

The child, who was admitted to CMH in critical condition, passed away at 1 PM on Thursday.

She had been undergoing treatment in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the hospital.

During her treatment, she suffered multiple cardiac arrests—four times on Wednesday and twice more on Thursday.

The tragic incident occurred on March 5 when the eight-year-old was visiting her sister’s house in Magura.

She was raped late at night and initially admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital.

As her condition worsened, she was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

When there was no improvement, she was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an unconscious state on Thursday night.

Her condition continued to deteriorate, and she was placed on life support on Friday night. By Saturday afternoon (March 8), she was moved to CMH for advanced treatment, where she remained until her death.

Following the rape, the child’s mother filed a case against four individuals: her brother-in-law Sajib (18), his brother Ratul (17), their father Hitu Mia (42), and mother Jabeda Begum (40). All four have been arrested by the police.

The case has sparked nationwide outrage, with calls for swift justice and stronger protections for children.

The army’s involvement in transporting the child’s body underscores the gravity of the situation and the collective grief felt across the country.
