Health authorities in Bangladesh reported three more cases of the new and highly transmissible Omicron variant of Covid-19.
With the latest development, the total number of Omicron cases confirmed in the country currently stands at 10 as of Friday (December 31).
According to media reports, Germany’s Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) announced the detection of the three new cases on Thursday night.
As stated by the GISAID website, the new patients infected with Omicron include two females, aged 49 and 65, while another was a 65-year-old male.
All the cases detected have been in the capital, according to the data submitted by Institute for Developing Science and Health Initiatives (ideSHi) in Dhaka.
