Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has been admitted to a hospital in Dhaka after suddenly falling ill.
The BNP media team confirmed the news on Monday, March 3.
According to Shairul Kabir Khan, a spokesperson for the party, Mirza Fakhrul fell ill on Sunday morning after attending a book cover unveiling ceremony at the book fair held at Sohrawardy Udyan.
He began feeling unwell due to dust and pollution in the area.
Following medical advice, he was immediately taken to United Hospital for treatment.
Despite the initial concern, Khan reassured the public that Mirza Fakhrul’s health is improving.
“His condition is much better now,” he added, sharing that the BNP leader`s condition has shown significant improvement since he was admitted to the hospital.
Both doctors and the BNP Secretary General’s representatives have requested that people avoid unnecessary gatherings at the hospital.
They also asked the public to keep Mirza Fakhrul in their prayers for a swift recovery.
The party members are hopeful that Mirza Fakhrul will soon return to his duties after fully recovering from this health setback.
