The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed 70 individuals, including women and children, into Bangladesh through border areas in Sylhet and Sunamganj from late Wednesday to early Thursday.
It was found that 17 people of two families were detained at Sylhet`s Jaintapur`s Shripur Border Outpost (BOP). Among them were 4 men, 4 women, and 9 children. 7 of them are from Kurigram and 10 are from Lalmonirhat, reports Samakal.
Meanwhile, Minatila BOP detained 23 people from four families, including 9 men, 7 women and 7 children. All of them are from Kurigram.
Kalairag BOP of Companiganj detained 13 people from two families, including 4 men, 3 women and 6 children. They are also residents of Kurigram.
Confirming the matter, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 48 Battalion Captain Lt. Col. Md Nazmul Haque said legal measures will be taken against the detained people.
BSF has also pushed 17 people through the Nowakut area of the Chhatak border in Sunamganj. Among them are 5 men, 4 women, and 8 children. They are all residents of Lalmonirhat, Sunamganj 28 BGB Captain Lt Col Zakaria Qadir confirmed. BGB has carried out primary interrogations in this matter.
