The Criminal Investigation Department, or CID, has reported finding "some bones" at the partially demolished house of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Dhanmondi Road No. 32, reports bdnews24.com.

The CID‍‍`s Crime Scene Unit arrived at the site with law enforcers from Dhanmondi Police Station to collect evidence early on Monday morning.

Dhanmondi Police Station chief Ali Ahmed Masud said: "Some bones were found at Dhanmondi 32 and the CID‍‍`s Crime Scene Unit is collecting evidence to determine whether these bones belong to a human or an animal."

After gathering evidence, the CID team left around 10:15am, according to Masud.

On Wednesday, marking the sixth month since Sheikh Hasina‍‍`s ouster and exile,

The demolition of Bangabandhu‍‍`s house began as part of the "Bulldozer March" programme on Wednesday, marking the sixth month of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina‍‍`s ouster. After more than half of the structure was levelled, people swooped in to loot and ransack the site throughout the following day. It was followed by a feast, during which a cow was slaughtered at the location.

Since then, people have been seen using hammers to extract rods from the rubble of the two buildings. Some have hammered the remaining parts of the structure to find rods, while others have dug up electrical wires from the open areas.

The movement spread beyond Dhaka as statues, murals, and other structures dedicated to Bangabandhu and the Sheikh family have been vandalised in various districts. After the destruction, the homes of Awami League leaders and party offices were also torched in several districts.
