Three people including prime accused Mohammad Ashik have been arrested in case filed over captivating and raping an 8th grader at a hotel in Cox’s Bazar.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) nabbed Ashik from Anwara upazila in Chattogram on Tuesday.
Earlier, two other accused Md. Kamrul and Moms resort MD Mohammed Shahin were detained on Monday.
“Arrestee Mohammed Ashik is a member of a teen-gang. He was accused in trapping and rapping a teen earlier,” senior assistant director (Media) of RAB-15 and additional police super Md. Abdus Salam Chowdhury told to the media.
Confirming the matter Officer in Charge (OC), Sheikh Muneer ul Gias, of Cox’s Bazar Sadar model police station said, accused Kamrul and Shahin were arrested after the law enforcers launched drives at various places in the city.
According to the case statement, four people including Ashik abducted the victim on her way to home on 13 December. Later, she was taken to Moms guest house and gang-raped. The accused dropped the girl in front of her house on 15 December and went hiding. The victims was admitted to the One Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) at Cox’s Bazar Sadar hospital.
