A rickshaw-puller was crushed to death in Dhaka's Hazaribagh area after a wall collapsed due to gusty wind owing to Cyclone Sitrang on Monday evening.
The deceased rickshaw-puller is yet to be identified, said Inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost, adding that the accident took place at Hazaribagh's Maneshwar road.
Two others, the passenger of the rickshaw and a motorcyclist, were injured in the incident, he added.
Earlier in mthe day, a woman died after she fell under a large tree branch blown off by the gusty winds of cyclone Sitrang in Narail's Lohagara upazila.
The cyclonic storm hit the coastal areas of the country on Monday evening and will cross the coast by early morning Tuesday.
The 13 districts that are at risk of being impacted are Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalakathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali and Feni.
The Met office has increased the warning signal in the country's seaports due to cyclonic storm Sitrang. Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to hoist danger signal number 7 and Chattogram seaport and Cox's Bazar to hoist danger signal number 6.
