Student dormitories of the University of Dhaka have reopened on Tuesday (October 5) after one and a half years shutdown.
Hall authorities welcomed the students with flowers, chocolate and masks with the university logo since 8am this morning. The administration closed all halls of the university since March 20 last year in a bid to quell the coronavirus surge.
Makeshift basins have been installed at all the gates of the halls to sanitise hands while entering or exiting the halls. Canteen directors and staffers were directed to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
As per the decision of DU syndicate, students of honours fourth year and masters can return to dormitories based on inoculation of one dose coronavirus vaccine in compliance with safety protocols.
