The Election Commission (EC) declared the schedule of 2nd phase local government election at 848 Union Parishad (UP).
Voting will be held at the Ups on November 11.
Commission secretary Md. Humayun Kabir Khondokar came up with the announcement following the 86th EC general meeting on Wednesday (September 29).
Commissioners and all related officials were present in the meeting which was held with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda in the chair. Apart from UP polls the schedule for Sirajganj-6 constituency was also fixed during the meeting.
The CEC said, the election in Bangladesh will be fairer if the dependency on technology increases like developed nations.
Political consensus is required to form the next election commission to create acceptability, he added.
Voting will be held at the vacant seat on November 2 while the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted on October 11.
As per the UP schedule, the last date of submitting nomination paper is October 17, scrutiny on October 20, appeal against nomination cancelation from October 21-21, settlement on October 24 & 25.
October 26 was set to withdraw nomination while the sign will be allocated on October 27.
Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) will be used at 20 Ups out of 848, the EC secretary said.
