The Election Commission (EC) is getting ready for the next national election, following the schedule set by the Chief Advisor.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin shared this information on Sunday (January 19) at the Election Commission headquarters.

He was speaking at an event where the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) provided equipment to support the voter list update process.

"We asked UNDP for help with the voter list update, and they responded quickly," said the CEC.

"We’re looking for their support throughout the entire election process. Just like us, they are also eager to see a fair election."

The CEC made it clear that the Election Commission wants to create a fair and smooth election environment without getting involved in political matters.

UNDP’s Resident Representative, Stefan Liller, mentioned that they would figure out the best way to provide more assistance after discussions with different stakeholders, including political parties.

At the event, the EC received 175 laptops, 200 scanners, and 4,300 bags from UNDP to help gather information for the voter list update.

The commission’s efforts aim to ensure a transparent election process while steering clear of political entanglements.
