The Bangladesh Railway Authority has decided to sell train tickets in advance, keeping the holy Eid-ul-Azha as possible on June 29. This time, for the first time, tickets will be sold in two shifts to ensure that passengers get tickets online region-wise. Besides, 25% tickets will be available earlier from the starting station.
Railway Minister, Nurul Islam Sujan announced this decision in a press conference held at the conference room of the Railway Building today.
He said, 100 percent train tickets will be sold online. But these tickets will be sold in 2 shifts. Western zone tickets will go on sale at 8 am and Eastern zone tickets will go on sale at 12 pm.
The railway minister said, tickets for June 24 will be on sale on June 14; Tickets for June 25 will be sold on June 15; June 26 tickets is going to be sold on June 16; Tickets for June 27 will go on sale on June 17 and tickets for June 28 on June 18. Besides, tickets will be sold on 29 June, 30 June and 1 July depending on Eid moon sighting.
The minister also said that the total number of seats in the intercity train departing from Dhaka this Eid will be 29,000. All tickets will be sold online.
